Giant Squid

"The Giant Squid has always fascinated me ."

What a monster! At least that is how they have always been portrayed on movies and in books. Science knows little about these guys, but some believe they are quiet, shy and even fragile. I tend to agree. I think they are just beautiful, streamlined, graceful and intelligent creatures. How amazing they must be in the undersea world they live in. I can't wait until we finally see and film them alive! Science estimates they can reach lengths of 60'- 90' or maybe even longer. They have the largest eyes of anything on earth and some are as large as basketballs! There are even more amazing attributes these creatures boast and I'm sure other astounding things that we have yet to learn. The "Giant Squid" (Architeuthis Dux), or the most recently discovered "Colossal Squid" ( Mesonychoteuthis Hamiltoni ) are like some kind of alien here on earth. Very little is known about these creatures such as breeding, true hunting habits, or other aspects of their elusive existence. They live and travel virtually unseen by us, hidden within the deepest corners of our earths vast oceans. Occasionally washing up dead on some distant shore, they have yet to be seen or photographed alive. There is a great deal of research being done to learn more about these very secretive creatures.

  1. This rocks! So totally cool and incredibly life like. You're an amazingly talented sculptor. I can't wait to check out the rest of your work especially the jelly fish table.

  3. That's brilliant. I can totally see a jellyfish in stainless steel! I can picture really cool bar stools at some trendy Vegas sushi bar. What kind of tables are you doing? Glass top?

  4. Stools would be really amazing! The tables will be glass top approximately 1/2" to 3/4" beveled glass. I could even do enlarged ones flowing around a entry to a restaurant!
